PBS is a multi-component framework designed to 1) support a functional understanding of ‘challenging behaviour’ via broad assessment of the context in which it occurs, and 2) enhance quality of life outcomes for focal people and other stakeholders. PBS may be implemented in a range of settings including; residential or small group homes, schools, family homes and other community settings. It is most commonly used in the support of adults and children with learning disabilities and/or autism.
